|Hi, my name is Megan Wolf. I am 16 years old and a homeschooled sophomore in high school. I am one of eight in a large Catholic family and love every minute of it. This is my first year as a volunteer for Trailblazers and I am in charge of all the Promotional Materials. I am eager and excited for the pilgrimage to Guadalupe, Mexico that is coming up in July! I hope for this to be the beginning of many great activities with Trailblazers. God Bless!|
|Hi, my name is Annie Wolf. I’m 17 years old and a homeschooled junior in high school. I am the eldest sibling in a family of seven girls and one boy. I am a Cradle Catholic and a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Slovak Catholic Church. I also run the Database as a volunteer for Trailblazers. I am a new member to the Trailblazers staff and am anxiously anticipating the upcoming pilgrimage to Guadalupe, Mexico and future Trailblazers activities. Hope to see you in Mexico!|
|Hey, my name's Ken Pietro. I am 15 years old and the youngest volunteer. I am a homeschooled freshman in high school. I am the first of four kids. I have been a Catholic my whole life. I am a parishoner of Ss. Cyril and Methodius and Assumption Grotto parishes. I am the webmaster of this website and I am on the fundraising committee for Trailblazers. I serve the altar and attend daily mass. I am looking forward to all the future pilgrimages and I know everyone will be strengthened in the faith through our efforts. In Christ!|
|Salve! I’m Alejandro Torres, one of the directors of Trailblazers. I’m originally from a city named Chihuahua (yes, like the dog) in the northern region of Mexico. I’m 24, single, and nishing my M.A. in Systematic Theology and Sacred Scriptures at Sacred Heart Major Seminary (pray that I nish my thesis!!). I serve also in the Catholic parishes of Pontiac as the president of an apostolate called Barrios Unidos en Cristo mainly with gang youth. I have been a director of youth ministry since I was fteen years old: the year of my serious commitment to the Lord. God has taken me ever since-to many different places doing missionary work and other great things in His service. Rome 2000 was, perhaps, one of the most beautiful blessings that God bestowed on me. I can still remember with great detail and the same intensity all the moments I spent with the Lord in this rst World Youth Day I attended. I assure you that it was GREAT! I am most honored by the opportunity to serve all the pilgrims who will be going to the World Youth Day in Cologne. Let us go to adore HIM! Cum Papa, ad Iesum per Mariam.|
|Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Fr. Paul Ward, Director and
Founder of Trailblazers. By some grace of God, I have received the gift
of the priesthood; I'm a diocesan priest of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
I'm proud of the class
with whom I was ordained,
read more about them here.
I love the Papacy very much, and I hope to help young people discover what the Pope really can offer them.
Here are the Trailblazers alumni, we would like to thank them for their work and dedication to God.
|My name is Julissa Vazquez and I’m 23 years old. I live in
the downriver area. Although my family and I are originally from
Southern California, we have been living in Michigan for over nine
years. I have one younger sister and two older brothers, one of which is
a Franciscan Brother from the Little Brothers of St. Francis in Boston.
I had the privilege of attending my rst WYD in Toronto 2002 and had a
most wonderful experience sharing the faith and love for Jesus with
people all over the world. Everyone seemed to be so joyful and lled
with the grace of God. WYD left me with some great memories and
unforgettable moments. I suppose that is why I decided to form part of
Trailblazers as Secretary. I am very happy to be part of a team that is
working together to organize such an important event; and it is my hope
to help, in any way, others who also plan on attending this pilgrimage
to Cologne. May the grace and peace of our Lord be always with you.
Web Editor's Note: Since she wrote this nice excerpt about herself, Julie has entered the convent of Mother Angelica's nuns, and is currently a happily professed religious.
|My name is Monica Majcher, and I am 18 years old. I have been a parishoner of Our Lady of Refuge in Orchard Lake since I was baptized there as an infant. I am the youngest of three children, with one brother and one sister. I graduated in May from Ladywood High School in Livonia, where I played on the Varsity tennis team and was the President of the NHS. I am now in my rst year at Oakland University in Rochester, where I am working on a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I rst heard about Trailblazers when Fr. Paul was a deacon at our parish. Since then, I have become involved in different ways. I am the editor of the Torch newsletter that goes out every month. I am also the Media Coordinator, trying to get the word out about Trailblazers in magazines, newspapers, on the radio, etc. It has been amazing to be part of such a wonderful ministry, spreading the Word to young people and trying to bring more people closer to Jesus. I am looking forward to traveling to Cologne and being a part of such a wonderful spiritual experience. May God bless each of you and grant you His peace and mercy.|
