Amy I am one of the pilgrims that went to World Youth Day with Trailblazers this past July, and it was a wonderful experience! I am not just a secretary that answers the phone and does paper work, I get hands on action with the many stages of planning that is involved, in making these pilgrimages happen. It's actually a lot of fun, and I have learned a lot from working with this apostolate. God Bless!

Virginia Senior Compass Newsletter Editor Hi, my name is Virginia! I am nineteen and currently attending Oakland University where I am studying Creative Writing. My family of eight and I attend Sts. Cyril & Methodius Slovak Catholic Church. I traveled with Trailblazers to Gaudalupe, Mexico and it was a trip I will never forget. After the trip, I accepted the task of re-creating Trailblazers e-newsletter, The Compass. I was the editor of The Compass for several years. Unfortunately, I had to handover the task to someone else once I started going to Oakland. However, I still write articles for The Compass and am enjoying whatever I can do to help out Trailblazers! I look forward to seeing you at future Trailblazers events/pilgrimages!

Henry Graphic Designer Hey I'm Henry, and I am 17 years old. I went to World Youth Day in Sydney with Trailblazers, and soon after decided to volunteer to help this apostolate, I am now the Graphic Designer; I design brochures and fliers for different events and maintain the photo galleries on the website. I was also homeschooled all my life, and I play the guitar. I am going with Trailblazers to Midland Canada this summer, this will be my second pilgrimage with Trailblazers, and it’s going to be awesome! Web Editor's Note: See an example of Henry's graphic design talent here: Brochure, Pilgrimage 2009 and back of brochure. (pdf opens in new window.) |

Fr. Paul Ward Founder and Director I was ordained for the Archdiocese of Detroit in 2004, and my vocation to the priesthood is the best thing God has ever done for me. With the help of some of my seminarian friends, I founded Trailblazers while still a student for the priesthood at the seminary, to attend World Youth Day 2002 in Toronto. I'm convinced that the future of the Church depends on our young people today, who are searching for Christ like never before. My parish is now Assumption Grotto, in inner city Detroit, the city in which I was born. I have been the one who has seen the most when it comes to the spiritual growth of our pilgrims, and it has been a privilege to serve these magnificent young hearts as a priest. May it please God to continue to pile on the graces in this adventurous and magnificent apostolate. You can find my bio and other writings on my web site: www.fatherpaul.org |
