A Special Christmas Message from the Compass Editor . . .

Letter from the Editor
Volume 1 Issue 1 December 2006

Merry Christmas!

It’s amazing how nice it is to hear those words. In our Anti-Christian culture, you almost never see a sign the says ‘Merry Christmas’. When you do your Christmas shopping, instead of wishing you a very Merry Christmas, the cashier will hand you your items and say, “Happy Holidays to you!” in the bright cheery voice that cashiers are trained to use.

It’s very upsetting that people have forgotten where Christmas actually comes from. One of my younger sisters likes to say, “If Jesus hadn’t been born than we wouldn’t have Christmas!” I think she has a very good point. If Christ had decided not come to earth in the form of a little baby, where we would be now? We sure wouldn’t have Christmas, which is a very special event since it gives us the opportunity to celebrate Christ’s birthday.

When you are out doing your shopping this Christmas, and very merry cashier in a Santa hat wishes you ‘Happy Holidays’ just smile, take your bag, and say, ‘Merry Christmas to you, too!’ in a voice that is full of Christmas spirit.

May God Bless You and All Who are Dear to You This Christmas!
